Job summary

Cambian Group Plcis seeking a dedicated Support Worker to assist children in our residential care setting in Wellington. You will provide emotional support, practical guidance, and help create a safe, nurturing home where young people can feel heard and valued.

Daily tasks include preparing for school, cooking meals, assisting with homework, organizing activities, and attending events. Training is provided, and you’ll work within a multidisciplinary team to safeguard and support each child.

Qualifications

• Person-centered values and empathy are essential.
• Ability to work with children and young people in a residential setting.
• Comfort with electronic care recording systems (Clearcare is an advantage).

Responsibilities

• Provide emotional support and practical guidance to children and young people.
• Create a safe, supportive environment and act as a positive role model.
• Support with daily routines, school readiness, meals, homework, and activities.
