Job summary

Cambian Group Plc in Hull is seeking a Residential Team Leader to guide a team of care staff in a children’s residential home. You will oversee day-to-day operations, ensure adherence to policy, and promote a safe, nurturing environment where every child feels valued.

The ideal candidate holds Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, has supervisory experience in children’s residential services, and a strong safeguarding ethos.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) required.
• Supervisory or leadership experience within children’s residential services.
• Strong safeguarding and child protection knowledge.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, and manage a team of Residential Support Workers.
• Ensure the home operates in compliance with legislation, policies, and procedures.
• Promote a child-centred approach focusing on welfare, development, and safety.
• Support children in achieving personal goals and developing life skills.
• Oversee planning and delivery of individual care plans.
• Manage staff rotas to ensure adequate staffing at all times.
• Conduct regular supervisions, appraisals, and training sessions for the team.
• Handle safeguarding concerns and ensure incidents are recorded and reported.
• Build positive relationships with external agencies, families, and the local community.
