Job summary

Springwood Primary School in Salford is seeking to appoint a number of Level 1 Teaching Assistants on permanent and fixed term contracts to join our expanding team at Barton Road, Swinton site.

Five vacancies are for full-time hours (32.5 per week) and one position is for part-time hours (16.5 hours per week). Springwood is a large primary school (385 pupils aged 5-11) catering for pupils with moderate, severe and complex needs and is part of The LINK Education Trust.

Qualifications

• Interest in supporting primary age children with complex needs to achieve their potential.
• Ability to work as part of a team to provide a suitable learning environment.
• Willingness to participate in professional development and learn new skills.
• Previous experience with young people who may present challenging behaviour or complex needs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist class teachers with delivering learning activities and supporting pupils.
• Support pupils with SEND to access the curriculum and develop independence.
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
• Contribute to shortlisting/interview tasks as part of the selection process.
