Job Description

NEW GROUND WON’T BREAK ITSELF.

Locations: Greater London, Milton Keynes or Reading.

Every day, our teams help people in businesses and communities to do what is right and achieve their goals.

Employment Tax is an important building block for any business. We support businesses and employees with a practical and pragmatic perspective—making their approach to expenses more efficient, training them on new rules such as IR35, proposing pragmatic solutions when compliance falls short, answering queries on employee rewards and tax benefits, introducing updated salary sacrifice schemes, and liaising with tax authorities.

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager or Manager to join our expanding national Employment Tax team, with opportunities for growth. The role can be full-time or flexible, including hybrid working options.

Role Overview

As an AM/Manager in our Employment Tax team, you will:

  • Advise clients on employment tax issues, including PAYE, NIC, employee expenses, benefits, and employment status (including IR35).
  • Help employers optimize costs through effective pay and benefits structures.
  • Manage compliance and mitigate risks related to employment tax, including year-end reporting, NMW, and holiday pay.
  • Assist with employment tax reviews, due diligence, healthchecks, SAO, or standalone projects.
  • Contribute to the Employment Tax and Employer Solutions group on diverse projects.
  • Enhance the reputation of the team and firm through quality work.

Candidate Profile

The minimum criteria include:

  • ACA/ACCA/CTA qualification or equivalent in tax.
  • Excellent communication skills and project leadership ability.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in Employment Tax.

Preferred skills include:

  • Knowledge of UK tax legislation and themes like PAYE, NIC, IR35, and awareness of recent budget and HMRC consultations.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and communicate effectively.
  • Proactive attitude, responsibility, enthusiasm for business development, and team collaboration.
  • Interest in technology and efficiency improvements.

Our Culture

We value diversity and inclusion, fostering an environment where everyone can perform at their best. Our open culture encourages interaction with leadership and supports bringing your whole self to work.

Work-Life Balance and Community Engagement

We support flexible working, emphasizing a healthy work-life balance. Our initiatives include secondments, charity work, and supporting entrepreneurs globally, driven by our CLEARR values: Collaboration, Leadership, Excellence, Agility, Respect, and Responsibility.

We seek individuals eager to contribute, innovate, and uphold integrity—doing what’s right for the firm, clients, colleagues, and themselves.
