Job summary

Grant Thornton UK is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager or Manager to join our national Employment Tax team. You will advise a diverse client base on PAYE, NIC, IR35 and employment status, with opportunities to lead projects and improve pay/benefit structures.

Your role will involve ensuring compliance, supporting year-end processes, and delivering practical tax solutions across multiple clients in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA/CTA qualified or equivalent qualification, preferably in tax
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work lead on projects
• At least 3‑years’ experience in Employment Tax

Responsibilities

• Advise our diverse client base on PAYE, NIC and employment status (including IR35)
• Help employers gain cost savings through better pay and benefits structures
• Manage Employment Tax compliance and year-end risks (e.g., NMW, holiday pay)
• Assist with Employment Tax reviews (due diligence, healthchecks, SAO)
• Work on a variety of client projects within the Employment Tax and Employer Solutions group
• Build the reputation of the Employment Tax team and Grant Thornton through quality
