Job Description:

About the Role

Do you believe you have the skills to support people back into employment? Do you take pride in what you do, and can you think creatively about how different organisations can work together to deliver a better service? Are you happy to talk with employers and help match people into meaningful work?

We are looking for a passionate individual to join our team in Wigan & Leigh, dedicated to making a positive impact in our clients' lives. We provide support, respect, and a safe environment, tailoring our approach to each individual’s needs to discover the best treatment and care options. We aim to empower individuals to reshape their lives, foster personal growth, and embrace life to its fullest. We have a position in our IPS team to support clients in finding meaningful employment. We welcome applicants with experience supporting disadvantaged people in employment, or those with recruitment or HR backgrounds familiar with placing individuals into work.

Our IPS (Individual Placement and Support Employment Specialists) team seeks to increase the number of people entering meaningful employment from our drug and alcohol support service. This is a new project offering an exciting opportunity to make a real difference. Flexibility, curiosity, and good listening skills are essential, as every person is treated as an individual. For more about IPS employment support, see this video.

Please note that working hours are Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm, with possible on-call work evenings and weekends. This is a Fixed Term Contract until 31st March 2026.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Experience supporting people facing severe labour market disadvantages to obtain or retain work
  • Knowledge of issues faced by people in treatment/recovery in the job market, and in employability and employment services
  • Ability to develop relationships with stakeholders, including employers, partner agencies, clients, and their families/carers
  • Broad knowledge of occupations and effective employer engagement strategies
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good IT skills, familiar with Office Suite and Google Workspace

WithYou provides free, confidential support to over 100,000 people annually across England and Scotland, helping with issues related to drugs, alcohol, and mental health.

Our name reflects our mission – a positive place for progress, connection, and expert help tailored to individual needs.

Our staff change lives. If you're passionate about helping people access support for drugs, alcohol, and mental health issues, we want to hear from you.
