Job Role

Are you passionate about working with people and being part of their journey to find employment? If yes, then this could be the ideal role for you as we're recruiting an Employment Specialist to join our team!

The role involves achieving delivery targets by working with participants to identify employment opportunities and support them into sustainable employment, mainly focusing on clients with health support needs. You will provide person-centred advice and guidance, building positive relationships with referral partners and local employers to facilitate clients' entry into suitable employment.

Our ideal candidate will have knowledge or experience of employer needs and engagement, and experience working in a target-driven environment. We welcome various backgrounds and experiences as we provide comprehensive on-the-job training. We're looking for someone with an engaging personality, comfortable working with diverse groups, and capable of offering a warm, welcoming experience to help participants take their first steps back into employment.

This rewarding role allows you to utilize your skills to support and encourage others and to contribute to our organizational growth through your unique experiences. In return, we offer a competitive salary of £28,407 pro rata per annum (dependent on experience) along with excellent benefits:

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage a caseload of up to 25 clients with health support needs who are motivated to start or return to work.
  2. Deliver the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) approach, with training provided.
  3. Support clients in understanding their skills, aspirations, and goals, developing an Action Plan to secure and maintain employment, including job search support, CV writing, and interview preparation.
  4. Assess clients' support needs related to work, including benefits advice and health disclosures, providing guidance accordingly.
  5. Participate in regular multidisciplinary team meetings with key partners as an embedded IPS practitioner.

Skills and Experience
Essential
  • GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths at Grade C or above, or relevant experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and digital technologies like Teams and Skype.
  • Knowledge or experience of employer needs and engagement.
  • Experience working in a target-driven environment.
  • Experience delivering services that meet contractual and quality standards.
Desirable
  • Knowledge of the employability industry.
  • Training in the IPS approach.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Employability Services Sector.
  • QCF Level 3 in Advice & Guidance.
  • Knowledge of the recruitment industry.
  • Experience providing information, advice, and guidance.
  • Full driving license for deployment across regions when needed.
