Job summary

Shaw Trust is recruiting an Employment Specialist to support people with mental health needs into sustainable paid employment, aligned with either the Supported Employment (BASE) or Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model. This peripatetic role focuses on client-centered advisory work and engaging local employers across East Yorkshire without home working.

You will manage a caseload, meet contractual targets, and collaborate with health professionals and service providers to help clients

Qualifications

• Knowledge or experience of Supported Employment or the IPS model.
• Experience working with people with mental health needs, health conditions, disabilities or similar client groups.
• One-to-one client support experience.
• Proven ability to meet performance targets and manage a caseload.
• Experience supporting people to obtain or retain employment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to influence employers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Delivering the Supported Employment or IPS approach in line with fidelity requirements.
• Supporting participants through all stages of their employment journey, including vocational profiling, action planning, job search, job placement and in-work support.
• Building positive relationships with local employers to create suitable job opportunities.
• Achieving contractual targets including starts, job outcomes and job retention.
