Job description

IPS Employment Specialist

Location: Chorley & Leyland

Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent

Salary: £ £32,061 - rising to £35,412 per year

AE Talent Solutions are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client for an IPS Employment Specialist.

Are you passionate about helping people overcome barriers to employment and supporting them to build brighter futures?

Do you believe that meaningful work can transform lives?

If you're looking for a rewarding career where you can make a genuine difference every day, we'd love to hear from you.

Our client is an established provider of Individual Placement and Support (IPS), delivering a nationally recognised, evidence-based programme that helps people with long-term health conditions and other barriers to employment find, secure and sustain meaningful work.

As an IPS Employment Specialist, you'll play a vital role in helping individuals achieve their employment goals while working alongside healthcare professionals, community organisations and local employers. Every successful outcome has a lasting impact on someone's confidence, independence and wellbeing.

About the Role

This is a varied, community-based role based in Chorley & Leyland where no two days are the same.

You'll manage your own caseload of participants, providing personalised employment support from the point of referral through to sustained employment. Using the IPS model, you'll work with individuals to understand their aspirations, strengths and career goals before supporting them into suitable paid employment.

You'll also build strong relationships with local employers, helping to create opportunities for your participants while promoting the benefits of inclusive recruitment and workplace wellbeing.

You'll spend your time meeting participants, networking with employers, working alongside NHS and community partners, and celebrating life-changing employment outcomes.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Managing a caseload of participants with long-term health conditions and other barriers to employment.
  • Delivering person-centred employment support using the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model.
  • Completing vocational profiles and developing tailored employment action plans.
  • Supporting participants with CV writing, job searching, applications and interview preparation.
  • Coaching and motivating individuals to achieve sustainable employment.
  • Developing strong relationships with local employers to identify suitable vacancies and hidden job opportunities.
  • Meeting employers to promote inclusive recruitment and discuss workplace adjustments where appropriate.
  • Working collaboratively with healthcare professionals, referral partners and community organisations.
  • Providing ongoing in-work support to both participants and employers to promote long-term job retention.
  • Maintaining accurate records and achieving agreed service outcomes.
About You

We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys helping people succeed.

You may already work in employability, welfare to work, recruitment, careers guidance, education, social care, health, housing or customer support and be looking for your next challenge.

To be successful, you'll have:

  • Experience supporting people into employment or helping them remain in work.
  • Experience managing your own caseload or workload.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong coaching, motivational and active listening skills.
  • The ability to engage confidently with employers and community partners.
  • Good organisational and IT skills.
  • A proactive, positive and solution-focused approach.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle, as local travel is required.
Qualifications

You'll ideally hold an NVQ Level 3 in Advice and Guidance (or an equivalent qualification), although applicants with relevant employability or employment support experience are also encouraged to apply.

Experience within IPS, Supported Employment, NHS services, Connect to Work, Restart, Work and Health Programme, vocational rehabilitation or mental health services would be advantageous, but is not essential.

Full training in the IPS model will be provided.

Why Join Our Client?
  • Comprehensive induction and full IPS training.
  • Ongoing learning and professional development.
  • Career progression opportunities.
  • Supportive and approachable leadership.
  • Regular supervision and mentoring.
  • Flexible working opportunities where appropriate.
  • Generous annual leave entitlement plus bank holidays.
  • Competitive pension scheme.
  • Employee wellbeing programme.
  • Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Recognition and reward initiatives.
  • A friendly, collaborative and inclusive working environment where your contribution is genuinely valued.
Why This Role?

This is more than an employment support position.

It's an opportunity to help people rebuild confidence, improve their wellbeing, regain independence and create a better future through meaningful employment.

Every conversation you have, every employer relationship you build and every job outcome you achieve has the potential to change someone's life.

If you're looking for a career with purpose and want to work for an organisation that truly values its people and the communities it serves, we'd love to hear from you
