Employment Solicitor (NQ-4PQE)
Location:Gloucester or Cheltenham, South West
Salary:Up to £60,000 (DOE)
Working Arrangement:Hybrid

About the Role
A new opportunity has arisen for an Employment Solicitor with NQ to 4 years’ PQE to join a thriving team based in either Gloucester or Cheltenham. This role will suit someone looking to handle a blend of contentious and non-contentious employment matters while contributing to the continued growth and success of the department.
The role will involve:

  • Advising employers and employees on a wide range of employment law matters.
  • Managing contentious work including Tribunal claims, grievances, disciplinary issues and settlement negotiations.
  • Supporting clients with employment documentation such as contracts, policies and procedures.
  • Advising on TUPE, redundancy processes, and day-to-day HR issues.
  • Attending client meetings and representing clients in negotiations and hearings where appropriate.
  • Playing a proactive role in business development and marketing initiatives.
  • Maintaining well-organised files and ensuring effective use of the firm’s case management system (DPS).

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Be a qualified Solicitor (NQ to 4 years’ PQE) with experience in employment law, particularly contentious matters.
  • Possess strong client relationship and communication skills.
  • Be confident handling Tribunal matters from instruction to resolution (support and training provided for more junior candidates).
  • Demonstrate excellent drafting, negotiation, and advisory capabilities.
  • Be able to manage a diverse workload and work under pressure.
  • Show enthusiasm for developing the department and engaging with clients and referrers.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office with the ability to learn new systems efficiently.
