About your new role

Our market leading Employment, Pensions and Immigration team advises employers across the UK on all aspects of employment, pensions and immigration law. Our clients are some of the UK's largest and best known employers. We are currently recruiting for an Employment Solicitor to manage a mixed caseload of employment work and provide HR employment law advice to clients. This role will also involve working closely with clients on a national basis, dealing with over 400 employment tribunal claims a year.

The role is based in our Liverpool office, but we will consider applications for other locations, excluding London. The candidate will be based at our Liverpool office and will be required to attend the office as needed, in line with our Hybrid Working Policy. The firm supports and encourages flexible working arrangements.

The role is fixed term for 6 months initially, with potential for extension.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of employment cases, primarily involving discrimination, whistleblowing, and complex unfair dismissal employment tribunal claims.
  • Provide strategic employment law advice.
  • Record and report client management information and trends.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of innovation and new products.
  • Work in accordance with client and internal SLAs.
  • Uphold Weightmans’ values in all work activities.

This list is not exhaustive; other duties within the role may be assigned.

About You
  • 3-5 years of post-qualification experience in employment law.
  • Strong technical knowledge and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Methodical and organized approach.
