In this role, you will be involved in a mix of both respondent and claimant employment law matters, providing comprehensive advice and representation to clients on a wide range of issues. This includes, but is not limited to, contract law, disciplinary and grievance procedures, redundancy and restructuring, discrimination and harassment, and HR advice. You will be working on both contentious and non-contentious matters, making this role varied and intellectually stimulating.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert advice and representation in employment law matters, handling both respondent and claimant cases.
Work on a variety of issues including contract law, disciplinary and grievance procedures, redundancy and restructuring, discrimination and harassment, and HR-related matters.
Conduct legal research to support your cases and prepare legal documents such as claims, employment contracts, and related documents.
Offer legal advice and negotiate on behalf of clients to reach favorable outcomes.
Stay up to date with developments in employment law legislation and ensure your work aligns with any changes in the law.
Handle sensitive and challenging matters, demonstrating empathy, good judgment, and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
Demonstrate strong negotiation and drafting skills, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
A qualified solicitor with 2-5 years PQE in employment law (though we are happy to consider applications from candidates outside this range).
A newly qualified (NQ) solicitor with previous paralegal experience in employment law will also be considered.
Experience in handling a range of employment law matters, both contentious and non-contentious.
Strong research, negotiation, and drafting skills.
A high level of empathy and the ability to manage sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
A methodical and detail-oriented approach to case management.
