Job summary

The Pearson Whiffin Recruitment Group is representing a top-tier Music/Entertainment firm in London seeking an experienced Employment Partner to lead the employment law practice from their West End offices.

You will oversee complex disputes, drive business development, mentor junior lawyers and work with high-profile clients in music, film and publishing. The role offers a senior leadership path and a competitive package.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor with 10+ post-qualification experience in Employment Law.
• Proven leadership and ability to develop client relationships.
• Excellent communication and client management skills.
• Active practising certificate.
• Experience leading a team and managing disputes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the employment law practice and provide expert advice to a diverse client portfolio.
• Oversee complex employment disputes, including tribunal claims and discrimination cases.
• Drive business development and client networking to grow the practice.
• Mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative environment.
• Ensure compliance with legal standards and high-quality service delivery.
• Work with music/entertainment/film and publishing clients on both contentious and non-contentious work (70/30 split to respondent).
• Represent the firm at business development functions and develop new clients through referrals.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced legal professional to take on a senior leadership role within a prominent organisation.

About the Role:

• Lead and develop the employment law practice, providing expert advice to a diverse client portfolio.
• Oversee complex employment disputes, including tribunal claims, breaches of contract, and discrimination cases.
• Contribute to business growth through client development and networking activities.
• Manage and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative working environment.
• Ensure compliance with legal standards and maintain high-quality service delivery.
• Working with a wide range of music/entertainment/film and publishing clients
• Work on a range of contentious and non-contentious work, with a 70/30 split to respondentwork.
• Represent the firm at a range of business development functions and have a track record of developing new clients through referral networks.

Candidate Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Lawyer specialising in Employment Law.
• Strong leadership and business development skills.
• Excellent communication and client management abilities.
• A recognised legal qualification and active practising certificate.
• 10 pqe+
