Job Description: Employment Lawyer (Vice President Level)

Our client is seeking to hire an employment lawyer (c.5-7 years PQE) with in-house experience in a fast-paced financial services environment, preferably investment banking, or experience in private practice at a leading firm with a focus on advising financial institutions. International experience is essential, as the role involves supporting legal and HR issues across EMEA and Asia jurisdictions. This Vice President-level position will be based in London and will collaborate closely with senior employment lawyers, HR, and Compliance teams to support senior management across various business lines.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established and growing business. The ideal candidate will have practical experience advising on all aspects of the employment lifecycle within a regulated organization in EMEA and Asia, including:

  1. Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating employment documents
  2. Updating employment handbooks, policies, and procedures
  3. Handling day-to-day employment issues such as disciplinary processes, performance management, grievances, and benefits
  4. Supporting investigations and regulatory responses
  5. Advising on privacy and data protection matters
  6. Developing and sharing employment law know-how
  7. Providing employment law training to HR and managers
  8. Assisting in preparing employment legal aspects of presentations and reports for management

The candidate should also have:

  1. Knowledge of employment law, HR, and regulatory landscapes in EMEA and Asia
  2. Strong ability to manage and prioritize diverse workloads for multiple stakeholders
  3. A collaborative approach working with control functions and business units
  4. Experience engaging with senior business managers

This role requires a confident, self-motivated, and outgoing professional with excellent communication skills, the ability to quickly adapt, and a focus on adding value to the business.
