Job summary

Weightmans is seeking a solicitor to join its national Employment, Pensions and Immigration team, based at one of several offices including Leeds, with hybrid working. The role involves handling employment law matters for major UK clients and contributing to team growth.

Responsibilities

• Advising clients on the full range of employment law issues, including redundancy, disciplinary matters, grievances, whistleblowing, discrimination and detriment claims
• Defending Employment Tribunal claims including drafting defences, bundles, witness statements and merits reports
• Assisting other members of the team with their caseloads as appropriate
• Drafting articles and legal updates
• Assisting with business development initiatives including training and networking
• Working in accordance with client and internal SLAs
• Working in accordance with Weightmans’ values and procedures
• Contributing to set team financial and utilisation targets

The candidate will be based at either our Leeds, Manchester, Nottingham, Newcastle, Birmingham or London offices but working as part of our national Employment, Pensions and Immigration team and subject to our hybrid working policy. Our teams are highly ranked in the Legal Directories and have ambitions to grow further.
