Job description

Job Title: Employment Lawyer
Location: Leeds City Centre (Hybrid Working)
Salary Range: £40,000 + Benefits
Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Role Overview & Daily Responsibilities:
  • Running a caseload of claimant employment matters, including unfair dismissal, discrimination, redundancy, whistleblowing and breach of contract claims
  • Managing claims through all stages, from initial advice to resolution, including Employment Tribunal proceedings
  • Advising clients on their legal position, prospects of success, and potential remedies
  • Drafting and reviewing legal documents such as ET1s, witness statements and settlement agreements
  • Representing clients at hearings (where appropriate), settlement negotiations, and mediations
  • Keeping up to date with current employment law and tribunal procedures

Application Criteria:
  • Previous experience in employment law is essential - ideally with a focus on claimant work
  • Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (CILEX) preferred, but experienced paralegals also considered
  • Proven ability to manage your own caseload independently
  • Experience handling Employment Tribunal claims is highly advantageous
  • Excellent client care, written and verbal communication skills
