Job summary

Sellick Partnership is recruiting an experienced Employment Lawyer for a long-standing client in the public sector. You will provide specialist employment law advice and representation to local authorities and schools, handling contentious and non-contentious matters.

The role involves advocacy, tribunal representation and advising senior officers, with hybrid working and monthly office attendance. Experience in local authority or public sector environments is advantageous.

• Manage risk, instruct external counsel where appropriate and ensure effective case progression.
• Deliver legal briefings and training to clients and contribute to service development.

Employment Lawyer

Sellick Partnership is currently recruiting an experienced Employment Lawyer on behalf of one of our long-standing clients.

You will provide high-quality legal advice and representation to public sector clients, including local authorities and schools.

Duties will include:

• Providing specialist, practical and commercially focused advice on contentious and non-contentious employment matters.
• Managing a varied and complex caseload, including Employment Tribunal claims and wider litigation.

Person specification:

We are looking for a qualified solicitor, barrister or Chartered Legal Executive with appropriate litigation and advocacy rights with strong experience within employment law.

Experience of working within a local authority or other public sector environment would be advantageous.

This is a hybrid working role with office attendance once a month
