Hybrid Working

Greater Manchester

£35 - £45

Sellick Partnership is pleased to be recruiting for an Employment Lawyer to join a large and reputable Public Sector Organisation in the North West. Our client is looking for a successful Employment Lawyer to start as soon as possible and to hit the ground running in this busy role, joining on a locum basis for an initial 6 months, with the possibility for an extension.

As an Employment Lawyer, you will be covering the full range of Public Sector Employment matters, which may include:

  • Advising on a range of non-contentious and, if appropriate, contentious employment matters including TUPE, pensions, employment contracts, termination issues, disciplinary & grievance procedures, severance, compromise agreements, policies & HR procedures, staff handbooks, redundancies, dismissals, breach of contract claims, maternity & sick pay issues, discrimination issues, health and safety and Employment Tribunals.
  • Advising upon, negotiating, drafting, and interpreting a wide variety of employment and employment-related agreements and documents.
  • Working with external solicitors in relation to, and as necessary assisting in or advising in relation to, Employment Tribunals.

This role would be suited to a Qualified Solicitor who is confident dealing with a mixed Employment caseload with minimum supervision. The successful candidate may be required to attend Courts or Tribunals. Our client is looking for someone to attend the office at least two days per week, so this role would suit an Employment Lawyer who can get to the offices in the Greater Manchester Region. The position is a full-time role.

The ideal Employment Lawyer will come from a public sector background, although candidates with relevant experience in private practice are encouraged to apply if relevant experience is demonstrated.

We encourage interested applicants to apply immediately to be considered for short listing. Alternatively, should you require further information or wish to discuss your suitability before applying, please contact Jennifer McPhail in our Manchester office for a confidential discussion.
