Job Description
- Conduct employment compliance audits, prepare audit reports and recommendations, and oversee their implementation.
- Support the HR team on international employment issues across Asia Pacific, Europe, the UK, the Middle East, the US, and Latin America, including labour disputes, employee investigations, separations, incentives, benefits, discrimination, pensions, immigration, transfer of employment, and other employment-related matters.
- Assist with employment issues in M&A and restructuring projects as required.
- Review agreements with vendors related to employee benefits and payroll services.
- Provide training to internal stakeholders on employment issues and legal updates.
- Collaborate with the HR team to create and maintain policies, procedures, handbooks, and employment contract templates that comply with local laws and company standards.
- Supervise, manage, and evaluate outside counsel on employment-related matters.
- Partner with team members on other employment or ad hoc projects.
Job Requirements
- Good understanding of legal requirements and employment practices in jurisdictions where the company operates.
- Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience handling employment issues, including advisory work and disputes. In-house experience is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to provide practical legal advice balancing business needs and risks.
- Excellent communication skills—written, oral, and interpersonal—and the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work independently, multi-task, and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Good team player.
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
