About your new role

Our market leading Employment, Pensions and Immigration team advises employers across the UK on all aspects of employment, pensions and immigration law. We are currently recruiting for an Employment Associate to manage a caseload of complex employment tribunal work and provide employment law advice. This role will be closely aligned to working with a specific client in the public sector.

The role is based in either our Liverpool or Birmingham office and is offered in line with our Hybrid Working Policy. The firm supports and encourages flexible working arrangements.

Main duties and responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of employment work – predominantly complex discrimination and whistleblowing employment tribunal claims
  • Provide strategic employment law advice
  • Management of client relationships with key stakeholders
  • Recording and reporting client management information and trends
  • Conducting advocacy in preliminary hearings
  • Work in accordance with client and internal SLAs
  • Work in accordance with Weightmans’ values

NB: Please also note that this role is subject to completion of additional security vetting measures.

About You

You will have previous experience and a genuine and demonstrable interest in the above area of work.

  • +3 years post qualification experience in employment law
  • Technically strong and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Methodical, organised approach
  • Employment tribunal advocacy experience is preferable
