We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced Employment and Skills Manager to join Karbon and lead our dynamic team, driving forward our mission to support customers into meaningful employment, training, and personal development.

About The Role

As the Employment and Skills Manager, you will lead the delivery of Karbon's employability and skills services, managing a dedicated team and work closely with a wide range of partners. You will play a key role in shaping and implementing innovative programmes that support our customers to build confidence, gain skills, and access sustainable employment opportunities.

This is a hands-on management role, where you'll be responsible for service development, performance management, and partnership engagement. You'll also contribute to Karbon's wider community investment and social impact goals, ensuring our work aligns with the organisation's values and priorities.

About You

We're looking for someone with:

  • Proven experience in managing employment and skills programmes or similar community-focused services.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and support a high-performing team.
  • A track record of building effective partnerships with external organisations and stakeholders.
  • A passion for social impact and a commitment to supporting people to achieve their potential.

About Our Team

You'll be joining a supportive and forward-thinking team that's committed to making a real difference in people's lives. The Employment and Skills team is part of Karbon's wider Customer and Community Engagement Directorate, working collaboratively across the organisation and with external partners to deliver high-quality, customer-focused services.

  • Role: Employment and Skills Manager
  • Salary: £51,669 per annum, plus a Karbon car payment of £2,317 per annum
  • Location: Stanley and Gosforth, with agile working
  • Hours: 37 hours per week
  • Contract: Permanent
