Overview

Employment Advisor to join Vita Health Group in Basildon and Brentwood. We are recognised as one of the UKs best health care companies to work for. We are a people-centred company that supports careers growth and development for our staff.

What you will do in the role

You will work within an employment advice service, collaborating with clinicians who provide psychological therapies to people with common mental health problems. You will offer employment support to service users to gain, return to or retain employment. The role involves working with job centres (including some face-to-face visits across the region), employers, trade unions and employment agencies to keep people in employment and secure employment opportunities. You will also help create a culture of prevention and early intervention ensuring timely access to health support and suitable employment support to avoid long-term unemployment. This role involves remote working and approximately one day in our Basildon office per week.

Skills and experience
Essential
  • Grade C GCSE English and maths or equivalent.
  • Experience in providing careers advice, IAG with work-related barriers
  • Able to travel around the local Basildon and Brentwood area at least 1 day per week
  • Building new relationships that are strategically relevant.
  • Working as part of a team and contributing to collective strategies and goals.
Desirable
  • Evidence of further study in vocational training, careers advice and job retention.
  • Understanding of Talking Therapies and integrated care
  • Experience in a target-driven environment
  • Proactive in relation to on-going professional development to stay up to date with industry knowledge.
  • Experience of working in a healthcare environment.
  • Experience of supporting people with mental health conditions into vocational/employment activities
