Job summary

Essential Employment is seeking an Employment Advisor in the Bexley area on a temporary basis. The role pays £19.16 per hour PAYE and requires delivering high-quality, person-centred employability guidance to adults.

You will manage a busy caseload, develop tailored action plans, and motivate clients toward sustained employment and improved wellbeing, using IPS and SEQF models where required. Ability to engage partners and coordinate referrals is essential.

The successful candidate will support adults who have been out of work for longer periods by delivering high-quality, person-centred employability guidance that breaks down barriers to employment. They will manage a busy and varied caseload, providing tailored information, advice and guidance, developing action plans, and motivating individuals to progress towards sustained employment and improved wellbeing.

They will deliver support using both IPS and SEQF models where required, ensuring fidelity to each approach while helping clients prepare for work through job‑search activities, benefits and economic assessments, pre‑employment training, and employability workshops. The successful candidate will also organise interviews, coordinate referrals, contribute to local recruitment initiatives such as jobs fairs and outreach events, and work collaboratively with partners, employers and community agencies to ensure individuals receive holistic, effective support.
