About our School:

The School of Criminoloy, Criminal Justice and Law is one of three schools in the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law. The school comprises of four departments, Criminology and Criminal Justice UG, Criminology and Crminal Justice PG, Investigation, Security and Defence and Law, that host a variety of vocationally focused and academic degrees at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
About the Opportunity:

Arden University is setting up Employer Advisory Boards to help ensure programmes are industry aligned and responsive to economic and technological change.

As a member of the Employer Advisory Board, you’ll help shape the future of education for the school by sharing your industry expertise and insight. Your contributions will support curriculum development, promote graduate employability, and strengthen partnerships between the faculty and the world of work.

This is a collaborative and strategic role that amplifies employer voice - helping to shape direction and ensure students graduate ready to succeed in the modern workforce.

About You:

You'll be / have

  • A professional with current or recent experience in a relevant sector (industry, public sector, non-profit, etc.).
  • Understanding of workforce skills needs and/or experience working with early-career talent.
  • Willingness to share knowledge, challenge constructively, and collaborate with academic peers.
  • Passionate about preparing the next generation of professionals.
  • No prior academic or board experience is required—just practical insight and an interest in education.

You will have experience / knowledge in at least one of the following:

  • Law enforcement (policing, investigations, interviewing, leadership)
  • Forensic science (lab work, pathology, anthropology)
  • Criminal justice system (law, courts, probation, prisons, coroners)
  • Police education (College of Policing, PEQF, PCDA, DHEP, Direct Entry)
  • Legal systems (civil/criminal law, in-house legal, legal tech/design)
  • Security and defence (MoD, NCA, civil service)
  • Private sector (corporate security, forensics, consulting)
  • Non-profit / advocacy (charities, NGOs, victim support)
  • Government and policy (civil service, regulatory bodies, policy analysis)
  • Research and academia (teaching, research, advisory boards, examining)
  • Public speaking and communications
  • Professional standards (Police Code of Ethics, ISO, H&S)
