Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd in Cambridge is seeking an Employee Relations Manager to provide expert ER guidance, lead a HR team and partner with senior leaders on complex people matters within a large, specialist medical organisation.

The role is full-time and permanent, onsite during training with a hybrid arrangement after embedding in the business (three days in the office, two at home).

Qualifications

  • CIPD qualification or equivalent HR experience.
  • Significant experience managing complex Employee Relations cases.
  • Excellent knowledge of UK employment law and its practical application.
  • Experience managing or leading HR professionals.
  • Outstanding communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Managing complex disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence and change management cases.
  • Providing expert advice on employment law, HR policies and best practice.
  • Leading and developing a team of Employee Relations Advisors.
  • Supporting senior managers through formal hearings, investigations and appeals.
  • Representing management at appeal hearings and Employment Tribunals where required.
  • Building effective relationships with senior leaders, managers and Trade Union representatives.
  • Designing and delivering management and HR training programmes.
  • Reviewing and developing HR policies and procedures.
  • Leading and supporting workforce projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Deputising for the Head of Employee Relations when required.

Role

The Employee Relations Manager role in Cambridge, with a salary between £49,000 and £49,387, is a full-time, permanent position. You will provide expert advice on complex employee relations issues, supporting key stakeholders across the organisation. Leading a dedicated HR team, you will partner with senior leadership on challenging people matters and employment law cases. This position requires a strong background in employee relations, case management, and team development. Your expertise will be crucial in delivering sound guidance and fostering effective workplace relations within a large, specialist medical organisation.

Senior Employee Relations Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Employee Relations professional to join a large, complex medical organisation in a senior employee realtions advisor. This position offers the opportunity to support key stakeholders by providing expert Employee Relations advice, leading a dedicated HR team and partnering with senior stakeholders on complex people matters. The Role

Reporting to the Head of Employee Relations, you\'ll provide specialist advice and guidance on a wide range of complex employee relations matters while leading and supporting a team of Employee Relations Advisors. Key responsibilities include:

About You

To be successful, you\'ll have:

  • CIPD qualification (or equivalent HR experience).
  • Significant experience managing complex Employee Relations cases.
  • Excellent knowledge of UK employment law and its practical application.
  • Experience managing or leading HR professionals.
  • Outstanding communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to influence and challenge at senior level.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
  • Experience delivering management training and supporting organisational change.
  • Experience within the a clinical/ medical or another large, unionised organisation would be highly advantageous.
