HR Centres of Excellence, based in the Centre for Human Genetics, Old Road Campus, Headington, Oxford, OX3 7BN. We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and motivated individual to join our dedicated, professional and friendly HR team at the Nuffield Department of Medicine on a 12-month maternity cover contract. Working as part of the HR Centres of Excellence, this is a unique opportunity to further develop the employee relations offering within a growing and world-leading clinical research department.
As Employee Relations Manager, you will partner with key academic and professional services staff across the department and wider university to provide high-quality HR leadership and direction on a wide range of matters. Reporting to the HR Director, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a culture of continuous improvement across the department, including absence management, performance management, family leave, and disciplinary and grievance procedures.
You will manage two experienced Employee Relations Partners, supporting people-related activities across the department. To succeed, you should have significant experience in employee relations, providing proactive, persuasive, and effective advice on various issues, enabling managers and staff to achieve their objectives. Proven ability to identify and manage risks in complex cases requiring robust and creative solutions is essential, along with experience supporting HR in organizational change.
Excellent organization, prioritization, influencing skills, and effective communication in writing and verbally are required.
