Job description

Our client, a large, complex and unionised organisation now has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Employee Relations specialist to join their team on an initial fixed term contract basis.


Please note: this role offers hybrid working arrangements with at least 3 days pw working from the London offices.


As Employee Relations Manager in this newly created role, you will be responsible for leading the Employee Relations team and overseeing the development and implementation of a best practice operational delivery plan to manage employee relations casework across the organisation.


Working alongside colleagues in the wider HR Partnering and Services teams you will develop the protocols and systems for the referral, management and reporting of cases, manage a portfolio of complex, escalated employee relations cases, support formal negotiations, consultations and ETs, analyse themes and trends to inform ongoing policy development, deliver training to managers on employee relations skills and much more!


To be considered you will require:

  1. Chartered MCIPD membership (or equivalent), or a broad-based business qualification, together with significant practical HR knowledge and experience gained in a large, complex and unionised organisation
  2. Significant knowledge and experience of advising and guiding a wide range of complex employee relations matters, including case management
  3. Experience of managing complex and challenging Trade Union relationships, including consultation and negotiation processes and dispute resolution
  4. A solid understanding and ability to practically apply UK employment law
  5. Experience of establishing efficient and effective processes and practices
  6. Experience of managing and developing a team
