Our client is a reputable international law firm retaining many FTSE 100 clients, they are now looking for a collaborative and solutions focused ER Manager to join their team in their busy London office on a 12 month FTC basis.
The ER Manager will work within the wider HR team and will be responsible for providing partners, managers and the wider HR function with accurate, timely and practical employment law and employee relations advice and guidance on a range of HR issues including legislation and policy-related matters across the UK & EMEA.
Key Duties Include:
Providing expert and accurate advice and guidance to partners, managers and HR in respect of the resolution of all employee-related issues.
Managing and advising on complex and sensitive Employee Relation matters including redundancies/restructures, conduct and capability issues, and draft related documentation.
Advising on employee exits, drafting and advising on settlement agreements and related documentation.
Advising on the engagement of contractors/consultants and other temporary staff, including the legal issues surrounding IR35, the Agency Workers Regulations and other worker rights.
Advising on the application of HR policies and processes, ensuring consistency of approach across the business.
Leading on the case management of all formal grievances and disciplinary processes across the UK. Advising the relevant partners/managers and HR on the process and the legal requirement.
Providing support on various local, regional and global projects including organisational change, restructures/redundancies, regional/global policy initiatives etc.
Proactively identifying changes and improvements to employment policy and practices.
The ER Manager will ideally have a minimum of 5 years’ HR experience, preferably within professional services along with a sound understanding of current employment legislation. It is essential to demonstrate strong influencing & negotiating skills while being able to work in a high-pressured environment and make sound commercial decisions. A CIPD qualification full or in part will be advantageous. The right candidate will possess strong listening skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office suite skills. The ER Manager will be a confident, pro-active professional with an innovative and credible approach in dealing with sensitive matters.
