Job description

Job title: Employee Relations / HR Coordinator

Contract: Temporary position until the end of January, with the potential to go permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm

  • Provide procedural advice to managers in implementing personnel policies and escalate matters to the HR Manager.
  • Support Senior Leadership and Governors with documentation for sickness, grievance, capability, and probationary investigations.
  • Assist line managers at informal stages of processes with guidance and minute taking.
  • Produce reports for sickness, disciplinary, capability, and probation hearings.
  • Coordinate disciplinary hearings by the Headteacher and Governors under the HR Manager's direction, including note-taking.
  • Update local HR systems and routines to align with current policies and best practices.
  • Oversee Safeguarding and DBS procedures, liaising with relevant officers to ensure safety and security.
  • Assist other Senior Administrators with tasks such as placing advertisements, arranging interviews, obtaining references, and ensuring DBS checks.
  • Coordinate induction training with the People Development Team and lead induction sessions as appropriate.
  • Maintain confidential staff files and input staff details into the system.
  • Produce employment contracts and manage deadlines for contracts and other key dates.
  • Manage the probation process and ensure required actions are communicated to relevant personnel.
  • Support administrators in submitting pay forms to Payroll timely.

Can you demonstrate the following qualities?

  • Experience guiding staff and managers regarding HR policies.
  • Experience working in a school or care setting.
  • Possess an enhanced DBS check.
