Job description

Our client, a large, unionised Public Sector organisation now has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Employee Relations specialist to join their team on a permanent basis.


Please note: this role offers hybrid working arrangements with at least 3 days pw working from the London offices.


As Employee Relations Consultant working as part of a dedicated Employee Relations team, you will act as first line of contact and subject matter expert for a wide range of complex employee relations and people management issues. This will include leading on complex HR casework, supporting collective trade union relations, working closely with people managers to provide guidance, coaching and development in the best practice management and resolution of individual employee relations cases, providing analysis and reporting on employee relations issues and trends, and much more!


To be considered you will require:
  1. Graduate membership of the CIPD (or equivalent) or a broad-based business qualification, together with practical generalist HR experience in a range of HR activities, including experience in employee relations.
  2. Up-to-date knowledge and understanding of employment legislation and employment practice, with demonstrable sound judgement in advising on employee relations matters.
  3. A strong track record of employee relations delivery in a large, unionised setting including management of a broad range of ER casework.
  4. Significant experience of providing advice to managers on a wide range of employee relations and HR issues.
  5. Experience of contributing to the development of strategies for managing complex employee relations processes.
  6. Experience of staff engagement and liaison with Trade Unions.
