We are looking for an experienced and proactive Employee Relations Consultant to join our team during an exciting period of transformation. This is abackfill role, created to support the team while we balance our day-to-day responsibilities with the implementation of a new HR and Payroll system, including employee self-service functionality.

As part of this dynamic team, you will play akey role in shaping our future ways of working. Your experience, knowledge and ability to influence will help drive our continued success.

The role requires you to:

  • support and coach managers in understanding and applying employee relations policies and practices
  • lead on a wide range of employee relations casework
  • ensure compliance with employment legislation and internal policies
  • build strong, collaborative relationships with stakeholders across the organisation

You should be:

  • CIPD qualified level 5 (or equivalent), with a strong grasp of UK employment law
  • experienced in delivering high-quality HR services in a fast-paced environment
  • a strategic thinker with excellent organisational skills
  • a confident communicator with a collaborative style and the ability to influence and negotiate effectively

Crawley is a great place to work, with a thriving business district and excellent transport connections including nearby Gatwick Airport. We are based in our modern Town Hall which opened in 2023 and is located a short walk from the town centre and railway station.

This role is a fixed term contract for six months

This is a hybrid role requiring an onsite presence of up to three days per week. Your contractual base will be the Town Hall; however, you will need to travel between various sites to meet business needs. This may include occasional attendance at our Metcalf Way Depot, Tilgate Park, and other smaller satellite locations.
