Job summary

Hewett Recruitment is partnering with a respected membership organisation to recruit an Employee Relations Advisor. The role is office-based in Kidderminster, full-time, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm.

You will be the first point of contact for members seeking guidance on workplace matters, handling disciplinary and grievance queries with confidentiality. You’ll provide practical advice, manage cases end-to-end, and work with a professional, supportive team to ensure accurate records and up-to-date

Qualifications

  • Experience in HR, Employee Relations, or case management is desirable.
  • Strong communication, listening and empathetic advisory abilities are essential.
  • Ability to handle sensitive conversations with confidentiality and care.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and IT systems for case documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a varied caseload of workplace and employment-related enquiries.
  • Provide advice via telephone, email and online channels.
  • Investigate issues and determine appropriate actions.
  • Support members through sensitive and complex situations.
  • Explain procedures clearly and document conversations accurately.
  • Maintain confidential records and case progress updates.
  • Conduct research to ensure up-to-date guidance.
  • Keep members informed throughout their case journey.
  • Refer to specialist services when appropriate.

What's the Role?

As Employee Relations Advisors, you'll be the trusted first point of contact for members seeking support and guidance on workplace matters.

From disciplinary and grievance concerns to employment-related queries, you'll provide practical advice, manage cases from start to finish, and ensure every individual receives a professional, supportive and confidential service.

No two days will be the same. You'll need excellent communication skills, sound judgement, emotional intelligence and the ability to balance empathy with objectivity.

What You'll Be Doing

What We're Looking For

  • Strong listening and questioning abilities
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • The ability to analyse information and make balanced decisions
  • High attention to detail and confidentiality
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
  • A professional, empathetic and solutions-focused approach
