Job summary

Oldham Council is seeking an HR Advisor to deliver a high-quality employee relations service across the Council. Based in Oldham, you will provide professional advice and guidance to managers and employees on a wide range of employment matters, ensuring compliance with employment legislation and Council policies.

The role is a fixed-term maternity cover (6 months) with 36.66 hours per week, located at Spindles Shopping Centre, Oldham.

Qualifications

• Proven experience of managing a broad range of employee relations casework, including attendance, conduct, grievance and flexible working matters.
• Sound knowledge of UK employment law, ACAS guidance and HR best practice.
• Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional first-line HR advice and guidance to managers on employee relations matters.
• Manage a diverse employee relations caseload with timely, fair resolution.
• Coach, support and develop managers through training and attendance at meetings/hearings.
• Promote a positive employee relations culture with early intervention and mediation.
• Contribute to policy development and continuous improvement of HR services.
