Job summary

DILIGENTA LIMITED is seeking an Employee Relations Advisor to partner with people managers across the business, providing expert guidance on absence, performance, probation, conduct and capability. You’ll support managers with disciplinary and grievance cases, deliver ER clinics, and maintain records while aligning with UK employment law.

You will also work with Trade Unions, prepare evidence for ACAS/Employment Tribunal matters, and help develop compliant HR policies.

Qualifications

• Proven experience handling a broad range of employee relations matters end-to-end.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and its application to business scenarios.
• Experience coaching and developing managers on ER/people topics.
• Experience working with trade unions and employee representatives.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance to managers on ER matters ensuring fair and consistent handling.

• Identify high-risk issues and escalate with senior People colleagues to ensure compliant outcomes.
• Deliver ER clinics, training sessions and manager briefings to build capability.
• Maintain ER case records, trackers and prepare reports and analysis.
• Assist with policy development and review to stay compliant and aligned to business needs.
• Prepare case documentation and timelines for ACAS matters and Employment Tribunal claims.
• Analyze trends to drive process improvements and wider HR initiatives.

As an Employee Relations Advisor, you will be a key partner to our people managers, offering expert guidance and practical support across a variety of employee relations matters, including absence, performance, probation, conduct, and capability. You'll play a vital role in ensuring issues are managed fairly, consistently, and with a proactive approach, helping to minimise risk, support colleagues, and foster a positive employee experience.,

• Providing expert advice and guidance to managers on a wide range of employee relations matters, ensuring issues are managed fairly, consistently, and in line with company policies and employment legislation.
• Supporting managers with disciplinary, grievance, absence management, performance, and other people-related cases, helping them navigate processes with confidence.
• Identifying and escalating complex or high-risk employee relations matters, working closely with senior People colleagues to achieve compliant and effective outcomes.
• Delivering ER clinics, training sessions, and manager briefings to build capability and strengthen people management skills across the business.
• Monitoring and maintaining employee relations case records and trackers, ensuring accurate documentation and supporting proactive reporting and analysis.
• Assisting with the development and review of HR policies, procedures, and guidance to ensure they remain legally compliant and aligned to business needs.
• Supporting the preparation of case documentation, timelines, and evidence for ACAS matters and Employment Tribunal claims, ensuring accurate and well-organised records.
• Analysing case trends and emerging themes to identify opportunities for process improvements, manager development, and wider people initiatives across the organisation.
  Proven experience managing a broad range of employee relations cases from start to finish, providing practical and commercially focused solutions.
• Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and the ability to apply legislation confidently to real-life business situations.
• Experience coaching, advising and developing managers on people-related matters, helping build confidence and capability across the organisation.
• A track record of handling complex ER issues, including disciplinaries, grievances, absence management and performance-related cases.
• Experience supporting settlement agreements and ensuring cases are managed in a compliant, fair and consistent manner.
• Ability to analyse people data and case trends, using insights to drive positive outcomes and continuous improvement.
• Experience working with Trade Unions and building effective relationships with employee representatives.
• Exposure to Employment Tribunal cases, policy development and initiatives that help shape and improve employee relations culture.
