Job Description:

Due to our continued success, the business has an exciting opportunity for the right person to join our fast-growing Employee Benefits (EB) team in Tonbridge. As an Associate Consultant, you will provide support to the existing team, and if you wish, gradually develop your knowledge and skills to become a fully-fledged Consultant. We are looking for individuals who fit our business culture. You should have excellent numerical skills and a strong academic background, with experience in Group Protection and Healthcare services (e.g., group life assurance, income protection, critical illness, private medical insurance, health cash plans). Experience in defined contribution (DC) pensions and auto-enrolment is advantageous but not essential.

In addition, you will have the following skills:

  • Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex ideas clearly and simply, with the ability to adapt as you gain more client exposure;
  • A proactive and enthusiastic attitude towards problem-solving and building positive relationships with colleagues and clients;
  • Self-discipline, motivation, and the ability to balance studying and full-time work;
  • Strong organizational skills, including time management and workload prioritization;
  • Problem-solving skills, with an agile mindset to analyze challenges from multiple perspectives.

Responsibilities:

Associate Consultants handle tasks including Group Protection and Healthcare renewals, rebroking, claims, clear communication, and advice preparation. Staying updated with employee benefits news and legislation is crucial. Your responsibilities include:

  • Communicating with clients and benefit providers via phone, email, and meetings;
  • Meeting deadlines and requirements for a portfolio of corporate clients;
  • Drafting standard and bespoke advice and communications;
  • Supporting consultants during meetings, data analysis, report preparation, and minute-taking;
  • Assisting with new client onboarding;
  • Researching group protection, healthcare, and pension providers;
  • Exploring opportunities in Financial Wellbeing;
  • Enhancing your employee benefits knowledge and keeping up with industry developments.
