Teaching Personnel Ltd. is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a complex SEN classroom in Skelmersdale. The role involves 1:1 and small group work with pupils who have SEMH needs, including non-verbal learners, using Makaton where appropriate.

Daily duties include personal care when needed, assisting with personalised learning, and contributing to positive behaviour and social development in collaboration with teachers and therapists.

Formación

• Experience working with children with SEN/SEMH needs.
• Experience supporting non-verbal pupils.
• Makaton knowledge is desirable.
• Willingness to provide personal care when required.
• Patient, nurturing and resilient demeanor.
• Ability to build positive relationships and adapt to pupil needs.

Responsabilidades

• Support pupils with complex SEN needs on a 1:1 and small group basis.
• Use Makaton and other communication strategies to support non-verbal learners.
• Deliver personalised learning and intervention activities.
• Provide personal care when required, maintaining dignity and promoting independence.
• Support emotional regulation, behaviour, and social development.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists and other staff to foster a positive learning environment.
