Job description

Permanent position with a provisional end date for funding of 31/03/2025.

37-hour contract.

Salary: £29,855 per annum.

Locations: Halton / co-locating with Halton Borough Council

The Children’s Society has been helping children and young people in this country for over 140 years. We run local services that support children when they are most vulnerable and in need of help. We’re there for children, every step of the way.

The post holder will support children and young people affected by domestic violence by offering therapeutically informed interventions as part of The Children’s Society’s clinically informed youth work workforce.

The role involves developing relationships with professionals across organizations and service providers to enhance emotional, mental health, and wellbeing support, aiming to increase resilience and empower children and young people to manage their mental health.

Experience

  • Experience working with children and young people presenting with emotional, behavioral, and/or mental health difficulties.
  • Experience supporting children and young people who are victims of domestic violence and abuse.
  • Ability to effectively use clinical measures and evaluate outcomes.
  • Ability to manage a caseload and demonstrate effective time management.
  • High standards of written communication, with the ability to produce clear, concise reports.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience working with children and young people in similar settings, delivering structured interventions.
  • Relevant professional qualification such as Social Work, Diploma in Counselling or Psychotherapy, Psychology, Youth Work, or Nursing, or significant relevant experience.
  • Must hold a full driving license and have access to a car for work purposes.

Good IT skills are required due to the fast-paced environment and the use of computers for clinical record-keeping.
