About the Role:

As an ELSA, you will work closely with students who require support in managing their emotions, developing self-esteem, and overcoming social, emotional, and mental health barriers to learning. You will deliver planned sessions, either one-to-one or in small groups, and contribute to the wider pastoral support within the school.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver targeted emotional literacy interventions to students
• Promote positive mental health and wellbeing
• Work closely with pastoral leaders and SEN staff to identify pupils in need of support
• Support behaviour for learning strategies
• Maintain accurate records and provide feedback to staff and parents
• Participate in training and team meetings as required

Ideal Candidate Will:

• Be a qualified ELSA or have relevant experience in a similar role
• Have a good understanding of child development and mental health
• Be empathetic, nurturing and resilient
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Be able to work independently and use initiative
• Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
