Job description

Are you passionate about supporting children's mental health?

If so, look no further! A rewarding position has become available for an Emotional and Mental Health Support Worker to work in a school in Headington. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience while making a significant difference in the lives of vulnerable children.

These students may struggle with trauma, anxiety, depression, autism, ADHD, and other mood disorders. They need someone who can facilitate a positive and safe environment for learning and growth. Your role will involve supporting children in managing and coping with their emotions and mental health, helping to make learning engaging and effective.

Your daily duties will include supporting and shadowing the class teacher, providing 1:1 support for SEN students, and assisting in running engaging lessons. Behavioural management skills may also be required.

This role is suitable for resilient and confident individuals who enjoy supporting young people with challenging mental health needs. It is ideal for aspiring psychologists, social workers, therapists, and counselors. Experience working with vulnerable children is desirable but not essential. Candidates with backgrounds in sports, art, drama, or relevant academic qualifications will also be considered.
