Job summary

A leading education provider in Oxford is seeking an Emotional and Mental Health Assistant to support children with mental health needs. This full-time position involves working closely with teachers and providing 1:1 support for SEN students. Ideal for graduates or those with experience in social work, psychology, or related fields. Salary ranges from £85 to £100 per day, with a September start.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with vulnerable children is desirable but not essential.
  • Background in sports, art or drama will also be an advantage.
  • Graduates in a relevant field will also be considered.

Are you an individual who is passionate about supporting children with their mental health needs?

If so…

A really rewarding position has become available for an Emotional and Mental Health support worker to work in a school in Oxford. This is an excellent position to gain really valuable experience whilst also making a huge difference to the lives of vulnerable children.

These students struggle with trauma, anxiety, depression, autism, ADHD and various other mood disorders. These young people need someone who can facilitate a positive and safe environment for them to learn and grow.

As an emotional and mental health assistant you will directly be involved in helping children manage and cope with their emotions and mental health.

Your day-to-day duties will involve supporting and shadowing the class teacher, whilst providing 1:1 support for the SEN students. You will also help run exciting lessons to ensure the classroom is a fun and exciting place. Behavioural management may also be required.

The role would suit someone who is resilient and confident in supporting young people with challenging mental health needs. This is a great opportunity for aspiring psychologists, social workers, therapists and counsellors.
