Role and Responsibilities

Samsung is directly affected by a wide range of laws and regulations, as well as changing demands from customers and partners. The Sustainability & Compliance Placement supports the Sustainability, Compliance and Health & Safety Managers to ensure compliance requirements are met, help develop/implement policies and strategies to address legal obligations, and work with external partners and internal teams to support the business. As a member of the SEUK Legal, Compliance and Sustainability team, you will help deliver innovative programmes to keep SEUK at the forefront of industry best practice.

What will be your key deliverables?
  • Reviewing, administering and improving SEUK's compliance policies and processes.
  • Providing general administrative support, including the co-ordination of compliance training delivery.
  • Conducting audits to assess the effectiveness of SEUK's compliance policies and processes.
  • Support the Sustainability Manager in their role for SEUK and Ireland
  • Monitor emerging regulation and keep colleagues informed of regulatory changes that will impact the business
  • Generate and develop new ideas and solutions to tackle sustainability issues
  • Support the compliance team on an ad-hoc basis with any business needs
Qualifications
  • Environmental/ sustainability background is desired
  • Creative problem solver with the confidence to build processes to support business needs
  • Comfortable managing their own time and planning tasks accordingly
  • Good communication, networking and influencing skills
  • A self-starter showing strong initiative in tasks
  • Strong MS Office skills including Excel - essential
  • A general understanding of the EU and UK legislative processes and framework - essential
