Job description

The Role

We are looking forEmerging Talent Scouts on acasual basis to support our Emerging Talent team in identifying and recommending top youth players (U14-U21) across both youth and first-team football, in line with our wider scouting strategy.

You'll be entrusted to provide weekly coverage of live and video fixtures, taking responsibility for assigned clubs and you will produce detailed player reports to build knowledge for our internal database and highlight key players within a shadow squad.

We are looking for our Emerging Talent Scouts to operate in the following regions: London / South Coast / Midlands / North West and North East and Scotland

Your day-to-day
  • Provide player recommendations- you'll scout and recommend target players between U14-U21, with a key focus on the U14-U16 age groups, through live and video analysis
  • Maintain crucial documentation- you will oversee and update succession planning documents to ensure stakeholders have access to relevant insights
  • Produce impactful reports- you'll take pride in producing detailed player reports using our digital platforms to support talent identification and verification
  • Uphold our high standards- you will work independently within the designated age groups and you'lldiligently follow our established processes and relish the opportunity to work closely with senior colleagues to deliver on ambitious objectives
  • Plan and prioritise matches- you'll plan and prioritise fixture coverage in coordination with your line manager and you will be prepared to travel both domestically and internationally to cover matches and tournaments
  • Act as an ambassador for our club- you will promote a positive market identity of our club with agents, representatives, clubs, federations, families and all key stakeholders and you'll understand and comply fully with the rules and code of conduct for scouts and approach recruitment with the utmost adherence to our club's values
What we are looking for
    • Understanding of the academy landscape- you're equipped with an exceptional understanding of academy football players, along with the accompanyingrules and regulations that come with identifying and recruiting them
    • Excellent knowledge of academy football clubs in a designated region- you back your knowledge of academy clubs across the region you're applying for (London / South Coast / Midlands / North West and North East and Scotland)
    • Credible expertise- you hold an FA Talent ID Level 2 and FA Safeguarding Children Certificate
    • Best-in-class communicator- you pride yourself on your ability to communicate clearly and openly with a range of stakeholders, both in writing and orally,tailoring your approach as necessary
    • Positive and enthusiastic mindset - you're personable with a proactive work ethic and a collaborative team player who can also work on your own initiative
    • Competent IT skills- you're able to write detailed reports on our database and quickly get up to speed with the various platforms and systems our Emerging Talent Scouts work with
    • Valid driving licence- you're easily able to travel for fixtures and meetings in order to fulfil the requirements of this casual position
    • Proud ambassador for our club- you're able to act as a representative of our Academy and you are sensitive to the needs of young players, parents/guardians and grassroots clubs

Please note:This casual position will require frequent travel and the ability to work across weekday evenings and weekends on a regular basis
