Job summary

Porterhouse Recruitment is recruiting for a Junior Production Manager to join an established manufacturer of uPVC windows and doors based in Braintree, Essex. The role suits someone with hands-on experience in fabrication and a path toward production management.

You will oversee daily production, coordinate the team, and work on improving processes while developing knowledge in estimating and planning within the business.

Qualifications

• Previous window and door fabrication experience, ideally within uPVC manufacturing.
• Applications may also be considered from experienced aluminium fabricators with transferable supervisory experience.
• Strong understanding of fabrication processes, machinery and quality standards.
• Previous experience supervising or supporting a factory team would be advantageous.
• Able to read and interpret fabrication or production information.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Confident communicating with colleagues at all levels.
• A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to take responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily manufacture of uPVC windows and doors.
• Allocate work and coordinate the factory team.
• Monitor production schedules, quality and output.
• Ensure completed products meet the required specifications and are ready for delivery on time.
• Read and interpret production and fabrication information.
• Identify and resolve day-to-day manufacturing issues.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality control.
• Support, train and develop members of the fabrication team.
• Ensure machinery and equipment are operated and maintained correctly.
• Promote good housekeeping and safe working practices.
• Work with the management team to improve production processes and efficiency.
• Develop an understanding of estimating, production planning and the wider operational activities of the business.
