Job summary

Client in Surrey is seeking an Assistant Estimator to join their estimating team, focusing on groundworks, foundations and civil packages. The role involves supporting tender preparation and pricing, working closely with senior estimators and operational staff.

The candidate should have experience in estimating or related construction roles, be numerate and detail‑oriented, and eager to develop within a respected contracting business.

Qualifications

• Experience in estimating or commercial roles in construction.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specs and tender docs.
• Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills.
• Ambition to develop in a preconstruction team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for groundworks and civil projects.
• Review tender drawings, specs and BOQs.
• Undertake quantity take-offs and price schedules.
• Assist with tenders and handover to delivery teams.
• Collaborate with senior estimators and commercial teams.
• Identify risks and value engineering opportunities.
