We are currently recruiting for an Emergency Team Operative

Location:

Bolton

Salary:

Grade 5 - £38,242 - £42,536

Basis:

Full Time

Contracted Hours:

36 Hours

Package:

Fixed Term Contract (6 months)

Working Pattern:

4 days on / 4 days off / 4 nights on / 4 nights off

Why is the role important?

The Emergency Team Operative responds to emergency repairs to gas, electric, and plumbing installations within properties owned by Bolton at Home, working alongside other trades. The role is vital to ensure our customers are safe in their homes, supporting Bolton at Home's vision of providing quality housing and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and housing standards.

Key Outcomes
  • Contribute to delivering an efficient and effective emergency repairs service, responding promptly to ensure customer safety.
  • Work with customers to get repairs right the first time, meeting organizational targets and sector standards.
What’s involved?
  • Respond to emergency repairs to gas, electric, and plumbing systems.
  • Gain entry to properties due to welfare concerns or if customers are locked out.
  • Undertake lock changes.
  • Inspect and order materials for repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records using our scheduling system (via PDA).
  • Collaborate with colleagues, contractors, and agencies.
  • Communicate work requirements and timescales to customers, and update upon completion, following the Repairs Policy.
  • Represent the organization in properties and on estates, including signposting and reporting issues.
  • Prioritize equality and inclusivity in all decisions, celebrating diversity.
  • Report health and safety issues and share learnings as appropriate.

This role operates within a 24/7 service on a rolling 4-day shift pattern, requiring day and night shifts both in and out of hours.
