Morson Talent is working with a major player in the Energy Sector, currently seeking Emergency Response Advisors to join their established site-based team in Somerset. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to one of Europe's largest energy infrastructure projects. Contract (renewable) – inside IR35.
Overview
Emergency Response Advisors will support the Emergency Response Lead for site/nuclear development emergency response, acting as advisors for operational response and recovery during construction. Responsibilities include ensuring operational response arrangements, plans, and equipment are effective and compliant.
Framework & Boundaries
Post holders will develop a collaborative working relationship with all key internal and external stakeholders, providing clear communication and support to ensure emergency arrangements are appropriate for current and future risk profiles.
Typical Accountabilities
- Serve as a technical advisor on fire and emergency response, supporting management and the Emergency Response Lead.
- Advise on site-wide incident response arrangements and develop support and recovery plans.
- Support strategic and tactical incident management, including remote support for Duty Managers.
- Interface with regulators on emergency response matters in the absence of the Emergency Response Lead.
- Provide assurance on firefighting and technical rescue operations, including Tier 1 rescue activities.
- Promote, coordinate, and facilitate testing and drills of emergency response plans.
- Conduct inspections, audits, and surveillance activities, reporting findings via the project reporting tools.
- Assist in planning and delivering emergency exercises to validate site emergency arrangements.
- Represent the Principal Contractor at internal coordination and community meetings.
- Support the development and deployment of rescue plans and ensure rescue personnel competencies.
- Maintain technical knowledge of complex rescue and emergency response risks.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Rescues from height and confined spaces.
- Firefighting and Rescue Command Level 1.
- MCA 3P certification.
Desirable Qualifications
- Relevant business qualification, DMS, Tactical Command Level 2.
- Emergency planning and fire safety qualifications.
- MCA 5P certification.
- City & Guilds Level 4 Award in Planning, Managing, and Reviewing Legislation for Confined Spaces.
Essential Skills
- Ability to interpret plans and develop emergency response strategies across project phases.
- Extensive fire, rescue, and emergency response experience in a commercial setting.
- Knowledge of emergency response equipment and coordination with fire services.
- Proficiency in developing emergency response plans from complex data.
- Excellent communication, instruction, and presentation skills.
- Resilient and confident in high-pressure situations.
- Strong networking and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of HAZMAT, spill, and environmental emergency response.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple activities.
- Proactive, flexible, and capable of working independently.
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of relevant regulations (working at height, confined spaces, etc.).
- Familiarity with rescue equipment and techniques.
