Job summary

London Borough of Hillingdon is seeking an experienced Emergency Planning and Business Continuity Officer to join our Emergency Management and Response Service. You will lead the council's continuity programme, develop emergency response plans, and contribute to training and exercises to strengthen resilience.

The role requires the ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams, engage with a wide range of stakeholders, and adapt in fast-paced environments.

Qualifications

• Experience in emergency planning, business continuity, or related discipline would be beneficial.
• Highly organised and detail-oriented.
• Able to engage with a wide range of stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day delivery of the Council's business continuity programme, supporting services to develop, review, and test continuity plans meeting statutory and organisational requirements.
• Support development and maintenance of emergency response arrangements for major incident scenarios.
• Plan and deliver training sessions and exercises to strengthen organisational resilience.
• Provide advice and guidance during live incidents to support emergency response and recovery.
• Collaborate across Council departments and with external agencies within the London resilience network.
