Job summary

Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Specialty Doctor in Emergency Medicine to join our team. You will be responsible for the care, diagnosis and treatment of patients in the Emergency Department, under the supervision of senior clinicians.

You will participate in teaching, audit and governance activities, and may cover for colleagues as required to ensure patient care remains uninterrupted. A commitment to continuing professional development is essential.

Qualifications

• Must work within GMC guidance and Good Medical Practice.
• Flexible and cooperative to cover for colleagues' absences when safe and competent.
• Teaching and supervision of junior medical staff and nursing staff.
• Responsible for records, reports and proper delegation.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to patients in the Emergency Medicine department.
• Refer patients to inpatient facilities as appropriate.
• Outpatient programmed activities depending on patient needs.
• Teach and supervise junior medical staff and nursing staff.
• Involve in audit, clinical governance and development of departmental policies.
• Be available for irregular commitments outside normal duties as needed.
• Take responsibility for continuing professional education per GMC guidelines.
