Job summary

UHNM is seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Matron to provide strategic and operational leadership of the nursing and allied health workforce within the Urgent & Acute Clinical Business Unit. You will drive clinical quality, patient safety and governance while working with Directorate teams to deliver service improvements and staff development.

The role requires 3+ years post‑registration experience, 2+ years in management, and formal leadership training.

Qualifications

1st level Registered Nurse
Degree level Education
Evidence of continuous Management Development

Responsibilities

Provide senior leadership to nursing and allied health professionals to deliver frontline professional and operational priorities.
Support Clinical Directors and Directorate management team to develop, implement and monitor quality and business plans.
Facilitate staff and team development and ensure effective communication systems within Directorates.
Be proactive in seeking patients’ views and ensure that feedback is valued and acted upon.
Develop a culture that is flexible and positive to change, where staff feel valued and opportunities are created for individuals to maximise potential.
