About Us…

Totally Urgent Care is a provider of Urgent Treatment Centres in London and nationwide. Greenbrook and Vocare operate at the interface between primary and emergency care to ensure patients are treated in the right place, at the right time, and in the most effective way, as part of the wider Urgent and Emergency Care system. We partner with local Emergency Departments to focus on major injuries and illnesses, while we manage minor injuries and primary care cases.

About the Role…

We are seeking Emergency Medicine Doctors with experience in managing acute illnesses in both adult and paediatric patients for permanent, salaried positions covering night shifts (full-time or part-time options available).

We welcome applications from Doctors working in Urgent and Emergency Care, including Emergency Medicine staff grade doctors, Emergency Medicine Registrars, and General Practitioners who have completed their training but do not possess GMC registration. All Emergency Medical Doctors must hold a valid GMC license to practice in the UK and be regularly appraised and revalidated.

Working in Urgent Primary Care offers a rewarding opportunity to provide care during patients' most critical moments. As a key member of the Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC), you will deliver face-to-face care when the UTC is open, ensuring patients are managed appropriately and efficiently while maintaining high standards of service. You will collaborate with clinical and operational colleagues to ensure quality care for all patients.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities…
  1. Triaging and prioritising patients accurately, including taking comprehensive histories and understanding past medical and medication histories.
  2. Assessing clinical information from history and examination to initiate appropriate treatment, referral, or discharge.
  3. Referring patients to suitable care settings when necessary.
  4. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team to support and provide comprehensive urgent care services.
  5. Taking clinical responsibility and supervising other healthcare professionals, notably Nurse Practitioners, as required.
  6. Adhering to the organisation’s safer prescribing policies, especially regarding controlled drugs and prescription security.
  7. Possessing full GMC registration as a qualified doctor.
  8. Having at least 1 year of post-registration experience in an NHS urgent care or emergency medicine setting.
  9. Providing proof of appraisal and revalidation, where applicable.
  10. Enjoying benefits such as 36 days of annual leave (including bank holidays), pro-rated for part-time staff.
  11. Receiving ongoing support for revalidation and CPD activities.
  12. Participating in regular educational sessions.
  13. Accessing NHS Pension scheme if eligible.
  14. Utilising employee assistance programs.
